Off Container Leaked and Made a Terrible Mess
I just returned from a backpack trip into the Sierra’s. I brought along the 1 oz. Deep Woods Off! for Sportsman. After climbing over a high 11,000′ pass, I discovered half the liquid leaked out (even though I kept it in a plastic bag) and spread over my backpack. The liquid melted part of another plastic container and I think it is slowly disolving the nylon on the Kelty packpack. I tried washing it off the pack with soap, but the sticky-ness does not seem to clean off. Why would a company design a product called “Deep Woods” and “For Sportman” if it cannot withstand a backpack trip?
Is that really the cost?
I can’t believe that this product is 10 times more costly than it’s competitors. Must be an error!
Best repellent!
I grew sick and tired of getting biten by mosquitos everytime I travelled. Every repellent I ever bought did nothing to deter mosquitos. Finally a repellent that actually repells!
Product leaks
Took two pump bottles on a camping trip in the Sierras and they leaked terrible! Fortunately I had double-bagged them in Ziplock bags. I was able to spread the leakage on my body by hand, which did keep the mosquitos off for hours.
Do not buy this
The packaging leaks. Deet is a powerful chemical that will melt plastic and destroy synthetic clothing fibers. I purchased 4 of these and all of them ate through their packaging rendering them useless (I received them this way). It was a sticky gooey mess and the whole thing was a waste of money.

So far, so good….
I have a 3yr old toddler. She scratches until she bleeds because of her eczema. She has dry patches on elbows and under her knees. I’ve currently been using Dove Sensitive, oatmeal baths (when it gets really bad), hydrocortisone cream, and Eucerine mixed with a little Jojoba oil. This seems to work well in the warm months but this winter has been really bad. I just bought this cream yesterday and this is the first night in a few months where she has not woken up to scratch. This morning I noticed a visible difference in her skin…it wasn’t as irritated. And I have not seen a her scratch once today. I’ll update again after a week but so far, I’m excited that this may work!
It’s works for me….
I used 1% Hydrocortisone creme in various forms for a persistant rash on my cheeks. It kept it at bay but never made it go away. Every morning I had to wash off all the flaking skin. The underlying tissue stayed sensitive and red but would lessen during the day. I repeated this for a year and a half. Two weeks ago it spread to the bridge of my nose and down my cheeks almost to my mouth. I researched eczema remedies here on Amazon. I almost passed on this because of the negative reviews. I was at CVS and since it was handy I bought it along with several other cremes. After 2 days of use 3 times a day most of the redness was gone. Just a week more of use my skin is no longer sensitive or flaking. I smile at the mirror now. Evidently the other ingredients play an important part in the healing process. My skin is now normal. I have no idea if I have to use this long term. I guess I will find out when I discontinue use to see if the rash returns. By the way this is the new formula with zinc.

I’ve had recurring eczema on the center of my neck for several years now. This product has helped to clear up a new flare-up in under two days. I coupled it with eating a high omega-3 diet (omega-3 fortified eggs, in my case) and disciplined behavior of not scratching or even touching the affected area.
Anyone saying ‘oh, this is just hydrocortisone’ is missing why this is much better than many other hydrocortisone products. Hydrocortisone is often delivered in cremes that are designed to also dry-out weeping rashes like poison ivy. The cremes end up dried out, flaky and itchy, and provide little or no moisturization. I’ve used them many many times before, and they often leave me feeling just as itchy or moreso than before I began using them.
This product does not leave me feeling itchy at all. It suppresses the itch all day long. The only uncomfortable thing about this product was that it burned a little bit for about 15-min to a half hour after applying it. It was well worth it for absolutely no itching and a visible reduction of redness in just a day or two.
I’m surprised and impressed with this product, so I’m recommending it here.
Nothing for my toddlers
It did nothing for the eczema. This isn’t even a good lotion. The medication ingredient is Hydrocortisone which is really just an anti-inflammatory.

On the picture of the box this product does not say it is the new eczema medication with the zinc ingredient. I could have bought the same thing at the store for a lower price. I wanted the old version with out the zinc. I compared the boxes and one says new with zinc and the old one just says new.

awesome!!!
i bought this for my fiance. she used it all last winter and is using it right now. it keeps her very warm. she recently realized the water bottle has a different texture on each side. the ribbed one is supposed to be used first. it prevents the user from being burned. when it starts to cool, the flat side is used so the heat will transfer better. she likes to boil 6 cups of water. she adds another cup of cool water in the kettle before pouring it in.
Not So Hot
This hot water bag should be called a warm water bag. Though I fill it with boiling water, it simply does not emit heat. It is well made and the fleece is cozy, but the essence of the bag is a flop. I did a lot of searching and thought the Germans would produce a good quality HOT bag, but this is not the case. I spent a few weeks in Ireland this summer, and each night my hostess gave us all a ‘hottie” to warm our beds. The “hottie was still hot in the morning. That’s the kind of bag I wanted
Warms it up
I liked this product. I use it to warm up my baby’s crib mattress before I put him to bed. It does it really well. The night sky theme is really nice and matches the rest of his nursery. I like that the inner bottle cap is plastic as well. Overall I am very happy with it.
Not bad - but not great.
The bottle seems to be fine - no problems with stopper as I’ve had on others. But the fleece cover is rather thin compared to some plush covers - I had expected something fancier. Rather expensive for what it is.

My kids had to take this for the first time because the local store said they could no longer get the tablets. They said it was the nastiest medicine they have ever had to take. We have used the orange tablets before, and while they weren’t great, they weren’t terrible either–much better than this liquid.
